DA! Art-Award: Check your Dogma
Düsseldorf's secular art prize - the DA! Art Award - is awarded every two years on a different theme by the Düsseldorf Enlightenment Service.
It aims to inspire artists to take a critical look at religion and irrationalism. In 2024, the theme is Check Your Dogma!

Our competition entry - ‘Reset’
Probably the most famous moment in human history turned on its head: Adam gives Eve the apple. What if the impulse for the ‘fall of man’ had not come from Eve, but from Adam?
The dogma of the God-given dominance of masculinity collapses and triggers questions about the codification of gender roles, guilt and responsibility. Would the stereotypes and prejudices that have existed for centuries have changed?
Would human history have unfolded differently? Would we look at the issues of sin, temptation and knowledge differently? ‘Reset’ is a visual reflection on the power of interpretation and the fragility of stories that shape our worldview.
